Homemade granola

I love this stuff! It is a very simple granola but very yummy!

Here's what you need to make it:
4 C Quaker Oats
1 1/2 C sliced almonds
1/2 C packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp grd cinnamon
1/4 C cooking oil
1/4 honey
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 C craisins or raisins(I'm not a huge raisin fan, but I love it with the craisins)

Mix all the dry ingredients in a big bowl. Warm the honey and oil in a saucepan. Once that is thin remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour carefully over the dry ingredients. Mix together with a big spoon and scoop out onto a cookie sheet with non stick spray or I use the bottom of my broiling pan. Bake 300F for 40 mins stirring carefully every 10 mins. Let completely cool (it won't be crunchy til it cools). Add craisins or raisins and put in an airtight container.

This also makes great holiday gifts in a nice glass jar with a little metal scoop and tied with a ribbon.

Here are some of my other fave holiday/fall recipes I shared last year:

Brunswick Stew and Chicken tortilla soup

Pumpkin Bread and instant Vanilla Chai Tea mix

Apple Spice muffins

AND I've been thinking a lot already about Christmas (I've actually almost finished my shopping for the kids...sick I know). Soon I will share all my fav links to making homemade gifts for everyone. It's quite long, but the more to choose from the better right? Tomorrow I'll try to cover kids gifts. After posting I'll put all the links on my sidebar for easy finding through the holiday season! :) I'll try to work on my own personal ideas soon as well so as to give lots of time to those who might want to make them.

Hey lady! I can't wait to try this recipe. We have been spending a fortune on the Bear Naked Granola at Target!
We finally started a blog. Check it out at http://allthetime-peppermom.blogspot.com/.
