More cherry pies

Well I bought some more stuff to make cherry pies. This time I tried some different variations. I made the pie pockets below with mitten shaped cookie cutters (again got greedy with the filling). Then sprinkled them with colorful coarse sugar (after brushing on egg white over the top). With some of the remaining dough I cut out circles with a glass and pushed in a mini muffin tin making mini cherry tarts. For the top I used a mini star cookie cutter and placed 3 on top of the cherries. Brushed with egg white and sprinkled with sparkly silver sanding sugar. Think I'm going to do these for an upcoming holiday party I'm having! YUM!

Those are so cute. I've never tried pie pockets shaped as mittens. Great idea for a party.
