Thread and Paint

Here are a few projects I got done this summer. Not as much sewing as I would have liked, but I finally did finish these two sets for Kalla before it got cold! The dress will at least go through the fall with a pair of leggings and a long sleeve tee. Kalla loves to wear both of these.

As far as painting here are my completed parts! I am almost done painting our bedroom green and I painted a faux headboard for our monsterous king sized bed. I got the idea from The summer issue of Blueprint magazine. The template for the shape is on Martha's website. I bought the large paisley stencil from Hobby Lobby.
Here is Kalla's room. It is very pink...as in pepto pink! I used an old mirror that I had no place to put and FIL bolted it to the wall for a dress up/dance mirror. She got the whole shabby chic bedding set for her birthday and I bought an extra sheet set to make bubble style valance and bedding for her doll bed. Here is the other side. Still a little plain, but I plan to add details later.
Now here is the kids bathroom. There was so much wall I just didn't know what to do. So I painted giant monkeys on them! One for each kid.
And then I hung banana valance on the window. Here is the other wall with the Maressa monkey. :)
The kids love the monkeys. That's it for now. Have TONS more painting to do in the house. Maybe it will get done eventually!

Oh and the faux headboard - neat! I looked for the the link to that on Martha's site but didn't find it. I'd like to do something like that in our guest room.
