Stumped

This is Kalla's stash of 'houses' for her beloved stuffed animals (mostly Webkinz).  In the kids craft closet I have a recycled section that I put shoe boxes in.  Anytime I have a new shoe box it is found within 24 hours or less and decorated to become a house.  That is fantastic.  However, they never go away and are starting to pile up.  Unlike my clever idea for all the drawings the child does, I am stumped at what to do with these.  I am really trying to be nice and accommodating for all their creativity.  But I must admit seeing all this stuff makes my skin crawl.  Clutter gives me anxiety.  If it doesn't have a home (in a container, on a shelf...just NOT on the floor) in my house it usually is put in the garbage or given away.  But I mean how can I trash Cutie Pie's Lamb Room without it going unnoticed??  It takes like a year after receiving a new Build a Bear to be able to get rid of those boxes on the sly.

I guess I'm just going to have to rethink the girl's closet and find a shelf for these boxes.  :)

I struggle with the same things. Its a tough balance between their creativity and games, and my sanity. My biggest problem isn't even finding a place for things, but they all creep out of their places constantly!

Does she have floor/wall space for you two to turn some of them into one bigger house? Like a doll house?

No way! Stuff animals need new houses just like people. Have you lived in the same house forever? Nope!
You can totally play that one off and, at the very least, start a new collections of box houses. Maybe some of the animals are lonely and need roommates (fewer boxes total). You never know what'll work til you try.

Good luck!

p.s. Randomly stumbled on your blog and its my new fav. Thanks for so many great ideas!

Christmas Tree Shoppe almost always has sets of nesting boxes on the cheap. If you were to pick up 2 sets of 6 larger sized boxes, they could nest together in the closet for storage when the Webkinz aren't using them!

How about gluing them together and turning them into a house / shelf? If you need, you can add extra layer of cardboard to make it more sturdy. :)
